OHHRRN is housed within the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa and headed by Dr. Ivy Lynn Bourgeault as Scientific Director and the Ontario Research Chair in HHR at McMaster University, Dr. Arthur Sweetman
The Ontario Health Human Resources Research Network (OHHRRN) is a province-wide network linking health human resource researchers and community decision-makers/partners with the goal of creating and synthesizing high-quality applied health research that addresses complex issues that affect health human resource planning and management.
Our overall goals include:
- undertaking more and better health human resource research in Ontario/with an Ontario focus;
- building capacity in health human resource research in the province in terms of research production capacity of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty development; and community receptor capacity development; and
- better informing policy and practice related to health human resources in the province.
The Ontario Health Human Resources Research Network (OHHRRN) was established on September 1 2009, as part of the Applied Health Research Network Initiative (AHRNI) of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. This initiative is an evolution of the Health System Linked Research Units programme.
